What is polished concrete?
If you’re looking for a durable and extremely resilient floor, polished concrete is the perfect choice. Such concrete floor is processed with mechanical grinding and polishing, along with accompanying chemical treatments, resulting in a particularly smooth and, if desired, even glossy finish. This gives it a modern and sophisticated look, making it suitable for private residences as well as commercial spaces and industrial buildings.
The surface of polished concrete is very smooth and has few or no joints, making such a floor very quick and easy to clean. Furthermore, polished concrete is very durable, which is a significant advantage for public areas.
To achieve all these properties, the concrete is first compacted and smoothed after placement. After the drying phase, mechanical processing takes place through grinding and polishing, accompanied by a usually multi-stage treatment with special concrete chemicals, which improve the floor’s resistance and significantly reduce cleaning efforts.
